Sam Phillips his wife Rachel and young son Tony are all out having
a family day of fun, when for no reason Sam is abducted by aliens
in front of his family.
Flash
forward three years and Sam has come back to Earth to find his
long lost family. When Sam first arrives back on the third rock
from the sun, he looks a little worse for wear. Sam's current
form is that of an alien Grasshopper of some kind that is about
as large as a dog. In a very creepy scene the alien insect is
hit by a car, when the driver gets out to see what happened they
get the mandible end of the alien. Sam then scurries off to a
farm house where he breaks in and violently rapes a woman while
in insect form.
The
poor lass gets the reproductive end of the insect. Once the insect
finishes the deed it dies, but don't fret Sam is soon reborn in
about 10 seconds, as the victim delivers a full sized man from
her body.
This
is a very nasty scene her stomach swells huge and when Sam is
emerging from her body he is snacking on the after birth. Back
in top form Sam is now able to continue his search for his family.
Although human in appearance Sam has a wide range of powers or
abilities. He seems to be able to animate things and give them
a free will of sorts. He posses a clown and a toy soldier to name
a few things. He also is stronger and hard to hurt as well. He
also must have a strong digestive track because he eats many weird
things, gas, meat and even his former wife, how he eats her I
ain't saying. While Sam was away, Rachel had found her self a
new poon-pounder to take care of her, whoops I mean things. The
new guy senses not all is well with Sam and tries to intervene.
Sam has come to take his son back to outer space with him, and
will let nothing get in his way.
Xtro
is not a great film but does have an incredible amount of gore
and violence, enough to keep you watching. It also has a few imaginative
kills that you won't see coming. Although the ending is kind of
a let down it is also a bit of a surprise. X-Tro is definitely
worth the rent if you are into early 80's horror.
