The X-Files: Fight the Future
ALIENS
Reviewed by GeneralCinema
Discover the past, live the present, fight the future.

With the X-Files closed down, agent Mulder and Scully have been assigned to work on domestic terrorism threats. Meanwhile in a small Texas town local children have stumbled onto a long forgotten cave. Falling into the cave through a sink hole one of the kids finds himself in a pool of "black oil". Soon these two separate incidents will be linked together with Mulder and Scully connecting the dots. Now Mulder and Scully will go on a quest from the blistering sun of Texas to the freezing cold of Antarctica, that will finally lead them both to the truth.

Shot in between seasons five and six of the X-Files television show, Fight the Future is both a great link to the show and the separate seasons and a great starting point for any new fans.

All of the shows regular cast get to make appearances in the big screen version as well.

Shot on a bigger budget and full of special effects the TV show could never afford, Fight the Future delivers the extra bang for the buck. The "black oil" is finally fully explained and we learn that it does not stay in the oil form for long. In the artic Mulder must rescue Scully from a cryo-pod like state and we get to see the scope of the aliens plans as the amount of hibernating humans is extraordinary. The long awaited kiss between Mulder and Scully finally… nope, not gonna tell ya watch and see for yourself .

From bombs, to government cover ups, to the truth of the secret purpose of F.E.M.A, and the role that bees will play in our fight against alien forces, Fight the Future finally answers a lot of questions that the show has put forward in the last five years, it also opens a lot of new ones. A must see for any fan and a good flick if you’re not, but watch out you may get hooked.
