Michelle
and Scott are driving from Los Angeles to Florida, but as luck
would have it they run into a little trouble while driving through
Texas. After stumbling upon a mass burial site that police are
investigating, our two friends must take a detour down a country
road. Nearly out of gas Michelle and Scott pull into a rundown
station looking for some fuel. It is here that we meet Alfredo
and Tex. Tex gives directions while Alfredo gives the creeps.
On their way once again, all things are fine and dandy until a
flat tire lands Michelle and Scott in the ever hungry hands of
Leatherface and family. And you know it's true what they
say, "The saw is family".
Not as serious as the original and not as campy as part two, not
too bad of a flick.
Tom Everett is good as Alfredo, but he just isn’t Chop Top. Tex,
played by Viggo Mortenson, is the normal member of the family
in this one who kinda misleads people to their doom. Also appearing
in this joyfest is Ken "Dawn of the Dead" Foree as Benny,
the bad ass bounty hunter looking for some cannibal bounty.
This installment has all your Texas Chainsaw staples that we know
and love. Ya got Grandpa, a dinner scene, that photograph noise,
and of course what Texas Chainsaw flick would be complete without
the chainsaw boogie, performed by dear old Leatherface himself.
Although the shootout at the end did nothing for me, there is
a great scene where Alfredo is disposing of previous victims body
parts and telling them what he thought of them that cracked me
up. Decent gore but not a lot of killings, but we do get to meet
more of Leatherface's extended family. And an armadillo is
squashed by a rock.
