A
group of county inmates are given a chance to shave some time
off of their sentences by doing clean up work at the run-down
Blackwell Hotel. Once inside the former grand structure, the inmates,
their guard and their counselor are going to learn that something
else lurks among the rats, roaches and filth, something large
with a real bad attitude towards those he deems unclean. The hunt
is on through the maze-like halls of the Hotel and the only ones
to survive will be those that See No Evil!
The
WWE pile-drives it's way into feature films with it's first major
motion picture starring WWE superstar Kane as conflicted killer
Jacob Goodnight and directed by Gregory Dark, half of the notorious
adult filmmakers The Dark Brothers, you probably guess how this
one is going to turn out, huh? Well smart ass, you may be wrong.
First
off I doubt See No Evil is going to win any awards as the
film is the standard hunter/prey slasher flick from start to finish,
nothing new, nothing surprising, but thats what I love about
slasher movies. A big bad ass sum'bitch brutally beating the shit
out of anyone he comes in contact with and this movie has that
in spades my friends. As far as bad ass sum'bitches go, Kane has
it down to a T and in a big way. Watching the big red machine
open a can of whoop-ass on his fellow wrestlers is one thing,
because most of his fellow ring-mates are the same size as the
massive superstar, but when he begins to terrorize and torment
average size men and women it is cranked up to the limit, I mean
the guy is HUGE!
Watching
Jacob Goodnight choke, pummel and swing a hook and chain as good
as a cenobite was pure delight. Add to that a cast of supporting
characters who you simply want to see dead, man that's like adding
an extra cherry to the top of your sundae! I also hate to say
this, but after watching Kane lumber and stalk his prey, I really
couldn't help to think how the monster would look under a certain
cracked hockey mask. No disrespect to the incredible Kane Hodder,
but watching this flick I could just see Kane under the mask.
As
I said above, the supporting cast are all terrible, I didn't like
any of them and I don't think you were supposed to in any way.
Using unknowns the film makers give you that classic feeling of
"Ha Ha, theyre all going to die!" vibe. That being
said, there is some skin to be seen and even a very bizarre jerk-off
scene to sit through.
What
about the gore and violence, Prime? you may be asking, well
there is some extreme violence at times but the gore is a little
low. The way Goodnight dispatches his victims is handled fairly
well, I didnt care for the ax or chain kills, I liked it
best when Kane just grabbed them and physically just beat the
shit out of them, not really original but damn violent. The gore
only really flows in the final scene or two and will answer the
question of why there are always flies buzzing around good old
Jacobs person and there is also quite a nice scene involving a
new kind of dog food that was pretty rough.
All
and all See No evil was way better than I expected and
I really enjoyed the movie, yes it's cliché and anyone
who has watched more than one horror movie is going to be able
to figure out what is going to happen next, but the flick is still
fun and Kane may well be on his way to becoming a major horror
presence.
