Someone
has awakened him.

After
being awakened in the Irish countryside after a farmer pulls away
a large stone, the mighty demon RawHead Rex is set loose on an
unsuspecting farming community. With his huge frame and ability
to hypnotize you, Rex appears to be on the verge of farmland domination,
until he tangles with the Hallenbeck family. The Hallenbecks decide
to take no shit from the hell spawned Rex and it's time for
a little demon ass kicking, farmer style.
Rex was not as cool as I remember, in fact he looked down right
bad. His eyes appeared to move like those little glass eyes on
dolls, you know the kind that just keep jiggling around. Also
at one point I swear when he turns around you can see the zipper
down the back of the suit. And then there is Rex's hair,
whoo hoo ain't nothing scarier than a demon with a mullet.
When I saw Raw Head Rex as a kid I loved it, if I would have written
the review then it would have been like this:

what a great movie, the monster was awesome and he killed alot
of people. Dude, blood and parts went everywhere. And the monster
looked like one of the Road Warriors he was so cool. And he
pissed on a priest, I can't believe that. I can't
wait for Raw Head Rex to come out on my Nintendo with a game.

All this being said there are two scenes of great terror in Raw
Head Rex. One involves a pregnant woman and the other a kid
who just happens to look up. There is also a kill in this movie
that will really surprise you, not really a normal one you expect
in most horror flicks. The image you will keep in your head as an
older viewer will be the demon baptism of a priest, it will make
you rewind at least once.
Written by Clive Barker, Rex should have been a contender, maybe
with a remake he could get the respect he deserves. Plenty of blood
and bodies but lacking almost every where else.
