Night of the Living Dorks
ZOMBIES
Reviewed by jareprime

Philip, Konrad and Weener are your typical high school students, one’s a nerd, one’s a good hearted fella and one’s a party animal, but one thing they all are is a bunch of complete dorks. There picked on by the jocks, snubbed by the babes and laughed at by everyone else. Even the goth kids think that they’re lame-asses. But all of that changes for the three amigos when they’re killed in a horrible car crash. And since their deaths, they have really been living it up!

Take your average teen sex comedy, throw in some voodoo and Romero-esque zombie fun and you have Night of the Living Dorks, a flick that comes back from the grave to have some true fun with the living. Basically Night of the Living Dorks is American Pie if it was written by George Romero. It’s got sex, humor and of course zombies, well only three zombies, but one zombie is all you need, right?

Anyway our three friends attend Frederich Nietzsche High School, I only mention that because this flick is a German import, where their lives are the classic adolescent hell, but after snorting a little Haitian voodoo powder and having a small car accident our friends soon find out that something is a little different about them and it’s something a little more hardcore than puberty.

The film is really a blast when it shows our friends having fun with their new abilities, like not feeling any pain and being able to twist and bend their selves in any position, but more importantly they find out that when you’re a zombie, alcohol and drugs have no long term effects on you. I bet you Paynecraft is feeling the love in that last sentence.

But as fun as all that stuff is, there are a few draw backs to being a zombie as well, like the hunger for flesh, the rotting appendages, the constant stink and the even more horrific loss of genitals in times of dire need.

The film does a great job on the mixing of the horror and comedy, there isn’t a gushing amount of blood, but there are quite a few good spurts here and there and on other occasions it’s laugh out loud funny. But on the whole the story flows very well and the entire runtime is very enjoyable to behold.

The dubbing is kind of annoying at times and the subtitles require you to be a speed reader for this one as there are always multiple people on screen, but other than those gripes, Night of the Living Dorks is some pretty damn fine entertainment, well except for the jerk off quick-draw contest, I really could have done with out that scene.

I give Night of the Living Dorks 7 of 10 ass bites.
