Pharmaceutical
tycoon Mr. Tako learns of a powerful berry that resides on the
Farou Islands. The berries are gathered by local natives and fed
to their island deity, the massive gorilla King Kong! At the same
time in Antarctica, Godzilla has been discovered in his icy prison.
As Tako decides to bring Kong to the mainland of Tokyo, Godzilla
awakens from his slumber and heads to his old stomping grounds.
As the two monsters descend onto Tokyo, one thing is for sure,
it's gonna be on, baby!
In this corner we have the undisputed champion of American monsters
Kong, the 100 foot tall, banana eating, feces throwing mega-primate.
In the other corner we have the king of all monsters, the radioactive,
atomic fire breathing, scaly spiked-back, tail swinging lizard
Godzilla! Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls of all ages and
for the millions watching at home LETS GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUMMMMBBBLEEEEE!
Forget plot, acting or effects, this is truly the throw down we
have all wanted to see. Although by the tale of the tape alone,
Godzilla would wipe the floor with Kong, this Toho based movie
gives each monster an equal and fair chance at the title without
hurting anybodies feelings.
Godzilla is the classic rubber suit that we know and love, but
Kong looks a little different this time around as he has an enlarged
snout and his furry coat looks like it may have a spot of mange.
Kong's longer than usual snout gives his a sort of mildly
retarded look. The fight when it finally happens is down right
hilarious as at time the props and costumes seem to bend, bounce
and flop at impossible times, and nothing beats Kong trying to
shove a tree down Godzilla's throat. For what it is the fight
is great and all you can hope for in a Toho film, so sit back
and enjoy.
Also, on a side note, there is not two endings to this story.
The myth is that there are two endings one with Godzilla winning
for Japanese fans and one with Kong the winner for US fans, but
in truth the ending is the same.
