A
giant hybrid snake named Seth is about to wreak havoc on a small
community during a county fair. It will be up to Dr.Brad, Kagen,
town hottie Jo Biddle, and Nick Hashimoto, a famous snake wrangler,
to bring Seth down. The hunt is on.
My
Lord does this one suck. Now before you roll your eyes, get this
one. Seth is a genetic hybrid between a cobra and a rattle snake.
Thats right, not only does good old Seth have a big scary
hood, he has a rattle too. What a great idea! Nah, not really,
they just took two cool parts from snakes and stuck it on one.
What a priceless combo.
Anyway
Seth escapes from his holding pen, which is a metal box, and proceeds
into town gulping down anything that gets in his way. Sometimes
he even uses the rattle. Dr. Kagen tries to find the 100 ft reptile,
but because that would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack,
he needs a little help from Jo and Nick.
First
off, Jo and Kagen have some of the worst dialog ever between a
man and a woman, it is bad, my good people. But lets get to the
star of this flick, Pat "What the hell happened to my life"
Morita who plays Nick Hashimoto, reptile expert. I guess after
Karate Kid Pat was kinda in need of some money and took on this
role.
Nick
is immune to snake bite poison because he injects himself with
it. I don't know why either, but I bought it.
The
final battle between Nick and Seth is a pure piss-yourself laughfest.
I swear the good Hashimoto-san gets bitten about a dozen times.
Forget the fact he is immune to poison, but the fact that Seth
has fangs as long as short swords should at least leave a puncture
mark or two. With bad acting, horrible story and even worse effects
this one belongs in the can, however it is one of those monster
flicks that for some reason or the other you find guilty pleasure
in.
Besides
the climatic fight at the end where I was screaming for Mr. Miyagia
to do the "crane kick" and put Seth down for good, this
one is bad, real bad. Not even a cameo by Erik "Poncharelo"
Estrada as a homosexual can save this one.
