Cthulhu Mansion
REVIEWED BY JAREPRIME

A gang of young punks decide to take an old man, Chandu, and his daughter hostage. While they hide out from the police, they have no idea what they have just stumbled into. The thugs begin to sense something isn't quite right, and their fears are confirmed when they stroll into the basement and release the darkness that Chandru has held there for many years. Now, all trapped inside the house, no one will get out alive.

Unlike the good movies based off of Lovecraft's work such as Reanimator or From Beyond, comes this bottom of the barrel horror flick called Cthulhu Mansion, which, other than the name, has nothing to do with Lovecraft's writings.

A bunch of bad-ass bikers with names like Hawk, Eva, Candy and Felix take and old magician named Chandu and his daughter hostage and end up unleashing the hordes of hell on themselves, sounds good but it isn't. First the gang members are supposed to be young and violent, however they are all played by thirty something actors who look like they have just got out of a detox clinic, they are all haggard looking. Chandu and his daughter Lisa are only slightly better than the gang.

The story is horrible. The first half hour is about the gang trying to steal a car, they should have just robbed Chandu's house, but no, we have to get a back story with police and drug lords.

The acting, effects, story and sets are all horrible. This is just a bad movie from start to finish and other than one good scene of gore it has nothing to offer anybody at anytime.

1/10

Cthulhu Mansion
REVIEWED BY WL PAYNECRAFT
Yeah, this movie sucked. It has NOTHING to do with Lovecraft. More marketing integrity in the works here. I watched this movie about five years ago. I had it successfully erased from my memory until I accidentally strolled onto this review.

The movie seems to be a lot older than the actual date. It looks like it was from the 70's. I remember me and my brother were looking for a good horror flick when we were intrigued by the "Cthulhu" in the title. Yep, we fell for it. Total shit. It ruined our night.

Whoever the hell Juan Simon is, he owes me two dollars. I give this movie .5 out of 10 cases of false advertising.
