Charlie
McFadden has eliminated all the Crites on Earth, except for two
eggs. Just as he is about to scramble them, Ug, the other bounty
hunter, stops Charlie. Ug reminds Charlie that galactic law forbids
the total extinction of any species. So Charlie and Ug are told
to bring the eggs into quarantine. It just so happens that on
the way Charlie gets trapped in a sleep chamber with the eggs
and drifts into deep space for forty five years. This is where
we meet a crew of galactic scavengers, who unfreeze Charlie and
the eggs.
Critters
did not save the best for last. Where to start, uhm, ok first
there are only two Critters in this movie and they are babies.
Second the Critters do not even appear until about 40 minutes
into the movie. These are just two complaints. The space effects
are horrible, the story is miserable and the plot is insane.
Now
that being said, Critters 4 does have a stellar cast. Don
Keith Opper and Terrance Mann are back as Ug and Charlie, these
two have now been in all of the Critter films. We also get Andos
Hore as Rick the captain of the scavengers. It took me along time
to figure out who he was, then it hit, he is Radu from the Blood
Species series. Sci-Fi and horror mainstay Brad "Chucky"
Dourif is also in the film as, wait till you see this name, Al
Bert. Not Albert, but Al Bert, yeah baby. There is also three
other lame ass characters on the ship but they all sucked. The
movie on the whole is bad, boring and pretty much has nothing
to do with the other Critter movies, due to the fact of an almost
complete lack of Critters.
Now
for the one saving grace of this film. Angela Basset. I will admit
I watched most of this flick on fast forward, but then I saw something
that made me pause, then rewind. Then rewind again and again and
finally again. For buried deep into Critters 4, is a small and
unforgettable scene of the lovely and extremely fine Ms. Basset
soaping herself in the shower, at first only in shadow, then an
over the shoulder view with the slightest bit of breast visible,
then finally as the light soapy foam drips down her back and to
the shower floor, we get an incredible ass shot that last nearly
5 seconds. And that my horror friends is the main attraction of
Critters 4, and now you know the RRRRest of the story.
