At
the age of twelve, Rachael Newman escapes the clutches of a serial
killer, but not just any serial killer, her abductor was Patrick
Bateman. Now some seven years after this incident, Rachel is now
in college and trying to become a profiler for the FBI. Under
the tutelage of Prof. Robert Starkman, whose last case happened
to be the Bateman case, Rachel is hoping to be the greatest profiler
in history and Starkman's teaching assistant, even if she
has to kill everyone else in class.
This direct-to-video sequel to American Psycho is a complete waste
of 90 minutes of film. Great opening, have one of the best bad
guys in the last ten years killed off by a twelve year old, with
a steak knife, and it goes down hill from there.
Mila Cunnilingus, oops sorry, Mila Kunis (That 70's Show),
sorry I always get those two confused, stars as Rachel Newman
an arrogant semi-goth chick who doesn't mind slashing a fellow
student to get ahead. This is pretty much the plot of this waste
of time. Rachel goes on a hacking spree taking out her top three
rival competitors, then disposing of their bodies in ways in which
she won't be linked to them. The original American Psycho
allowed the character of Patrick to do a kind of narration as
the movie played, which gave great insight into the character,
they do they same in this one however all they are lame ass one-liners
that Freddy Kruger would not use. The best being "Yup, I
killed Brian.", yeah great stuff.
There are two things in this movie that were amusing. The first
Mila Kunis running around in a skin hugging sweat suit, the girl
is built and I had to rewind a few times to keep that firm ass
in my sight a few seconds longer. The second thing is the role
of Professor Starkman, played by none other than "The Kirk"
himself, William Shatner. This movie was worth the price of the
rental alone to hear Shatner say "Don't fuck with me!",
that is just priceless in it's own right.
The kills, the story and even the box cover, which looks more
like sequel to Children of the Corn, all suck and so does this
movie. Maybe Mila took this role as a chance to break away from
her role on That 70's Show, if she would have shown a little
T or A, I might have bought it, but this one just stinks. Of course
I loved American Psycho so I may be a little biased.
