The title really says it all, here. A guy advertises for amateur babes to perform in his movie, then kills them.

This is a seriously dark, ultra-gritty flick that should not be confused with porn in any way. The sexuality is minimized throughout, although technically it is explicit a couple times. Also we’re pretty clear on what’s going on from the beginning, so once the victim starts talking it’s really easy to get sucked into caring about her. As her clothes come off, we know she’s getting closer to something unpleasant. It was the first time I was rooting for the female lead to keep her pants on. Also she’s really cute.

There are only three actors, but they all play their roles very well. The movie is mostly carried by the victim I mentioned, she’s absolutely adorable and as the film goes on, we care more and more about her. I think this aspect is the saving grace for this movie, because it is so bare-bones as far as storyline goes. Three sentences can tell the entire story, but the intensity is built as the victim stalls about taking off her clothes as she loses her nerve, and the killer’s harassing her into it. We’re on the outside watching, and things are more tense for us because we know what’s really at stake.

However the film is done in a really artsy, stylized way. At no time is the picture clear, either we’re watching through the killer’s camcorder or a copper-hued camera that has an old-fashioned projector feel, or things are all red and it‘s hard to even see what‘s happening.

The picture is also scratched up and jumpy to give it the feel of a cheap snuff film. The problem with this is anyone can go to Wal-Mart and pick up a cheap-ass camcorder nowadays that doesn’t jump or have scratches on the film (there’s no film, after all), so that bugged me. What really bugged me is how fucking irritating a jumping screen gets after twenty minutes, I’m lucky I had no seizures watching this one.

Overall, a seriously dark film that really captures the ordeal and makes it hard not to take seriously. Also amusing is that the movie comes packaged with a condom and a tissue, evidence of the crime that’s committed onscreen.
