After
drinking contaminated water, a group of teens transform into “zitheads”.
As the epidemic grows within the teen community, the government
puts a ban on selling chocolate to minors. With an ever-growing
hunger, the “zitheads” set out on a journey to the Mershey chocolate
factory in Mershey, PA. The government learns of the “zitheads”
intentions, and set out to stop them before they reach their destination.
What will become of the “zitheads”? Will they reach their destination?
You’ll be in suspense till the very end.
A throwback to the old classic movies, this is soon to be a cult
classic itself. This film is the ‘CLERKS” of the horror/sc-fi
genre. This is a real nostalgia piece of filmmaking. True art.
This film has the look and feel of the old classics of the 50’s
and 60’s.
As a low budget, indie film, it is a breakthrough piece of work.
Completely original in every way, it’s its own movie. This film
doesn’t try to rip off other movies, or even use aspects of other
films. I loved this film for everything it is. I especially loved
the fact that it was a throwback to the old classics, instead
of just another modern day sci/fi flick.
The acting was superb for an indie flick. Every role was believable,
especially the role of Zoe (Rusty Nails). Not only is he a master
behind the camera, but also in front of the camera. He draws you
right in to the world of the “zitheads”. Many times, without thinking,
I found myself reaching up and touching the top of my head.
The effects were done very wall also. Especially the pulsating
tops of the heads, right as they burst open. This also contains
a kick-ass soundtrack with songs by Devo, Dead Kennedys, Tilt,
Alice Donut & Lunachicks, and even a song by Rusty Nails himself.
Packed with special features, which include the director’s commentary,
Rusty Nails hilarious short film “Santiago vs. Wigface, an awesome
looking trailer for “Blood Drinkers”, and kick-ass videos for
Tilt’s “Animated Corpse”, and Arab On Radar’s “God is Dad”.
With this soon-to-be cult classic film, with all the kick-ass
special features, I give this a 8 out of 10 bulging, pulsing,
bursting head tops.
