Sid Haig
Written by jareprime

Hey Horrorwatchers, here is the short but to the point interview I got to have with Captain Spaulding himself at this year’s Horrorfind Convention. Enjoy!

Jareprime: Hi, Sid, I loved The Devil’s Rejects.
Sid Haig: Thanks.

JP: Did you know going in you were going to be more of a family member this time around?
SH: Yeah and no, Rob said something about it but until I saw it on the script I didn’t know what he was really talking about it.

JP: Did you like the move of this one from the surreal to the more real aspect?
SH: Yes, very much so, it kinda felt like a lot of my early work in a way.

JP: Not to step on toes, but how did you feel about Reject’s kinda lack-luster box office?
SH: After the reviews we got, you think Lions Gate would have backed us more, but no, they fucked us. Literally after the release, they dropped all advertising from us and that was it.

JP: That’s really a shame too, as the film was great.
SH: Thanks, look for a newly designed add campaign with the DVD release, maybe they will give us a bigger push this time.

JP: I hope so, it’s coming out in November right?
SH: Yeah around the first or so, two disc, lots of extras, make sure you get a copy.

JP: I will, what have you got coming up next?
SH: House of the Dead 2 and a smaller film about an angry clown.

JP: What about the rumors I have heard of a Spider Baby remake?
SH: Yeah that’s been mentioned, I heard ‘d be offered the role of the caretaker if they do it.

JP: Sounds like a winner to me, I loved the original. You would be great as Bruno.
SH: We’ll see.

JP: Well I’m holding up your line thanks for the time.
SH: Not a problem, take care.

Sid Haig is simply cool, aside from his current work, you guys need to check out some of his older films, such as Spider Baby and any of the flicks he made in the seventies, mostly co-starring alongside Pam Grier.
